So you know, the Duffer Brothers said that a **time jump** will take place in Stranger Things Season 5, BUT we don't know whether it's to the future or the past. Time is mentioned a lot in ST. Like the children going to see the "Back to the Future" movie or Vecna's victims seeing the grandfather clock. Yesterday I was watching Season 4, Episode 9 (the final episode): The Piggyback When Nancy and Steve are talking in the woods, in the upside-down; Steve says this: "When I was a baby, I actually crawled backwards," Nancy asks: "Crawled backwards?" And then Steve replies: "You know, I'd push with my hand like this. Beep. Beep. ***Always in reverse, you know.***" We know season 5's first episode is named "The Crawl". I know there are a lot of theories about many monsters crawling out of the gate as Nancy saw in her vision, but my theory is that maybe time will be reversed to the same day Will went missing like time is paused on that same day in the upside-down. I know, it'll be hard to do the CGI work or cast another group of kids (they can't do that, the community would hate it) but maybe there's a small chance that they’ll use similar de-ageing technology as they did on El for the massacre scenes in S4 (thank you [**SaladConstant7176**](https://www.reddit.com/user/SaladConstant7176/) for your comment.) Also, the Duffer Brothers said that Season 5 will have a "Season 1 energy" (Thank you [**Taileyk**](https://www.reddit.com/user/Taileyk/) for your comment.) In season 4 we learn that The Upside Down is stuck in a static moment in time; November 6, 1983. This is confirmed during a scene in Nancy's room where she is unable to find her guns that were obtained after that date and notices all of these old objects that had since been removed from her room and, ultimately, learns of the static date upon reading the latest journal entry in her personal diary. The production designer Chris Trujillo confirms this fact when when he said "The moment that the Upside Down was quote-unquote “created” inadvertently by Eleven, the set dressing and the world of the Upside Down is frozen in that moment. So like when we’re in Nancy’s room, we’ll discover in the Upside Down that Nancy’s room is as it was season 1 when we first were introduced to it." Why is this a plot hole, you may be asking... because multiple objects that are added to the real world as the seasons progress are also reflected in the upside down as the seasons progress, which would have led us to believe that The Upside Down had a parallel timeline with the normal Hawkins, but not so... for example: the Christmas lights that Joyce sets up in her home to communicate with Will during season 1 would not exist in the November 6, 1983 version of The Upside Down for Will to communicate back to Joyce. Am I missing some glaring detail that explains away this apparent plot hole?
Anyone heard anything interesting about the new season? Plot deets or anything from set? They revealed the episode titles in November, but blanked out the full title for episode 5x02. Apparently, it should be “The vanishing of Holly Wheeler”, a callback to the s1 title “The vanishing of Will Byers”. The paparazzi managed to snap photos of Holly and Vecna in front of the 50s Creel house. Wondering what’s going on there? He probably put her in a vision. It seems they’re putting the Wheelers through it in s5. I’m kind of glad because we won’t just have Mike whining about El the entire season for a change. Also, that fandom seriously needs to stop fighting about ships, they’re very annoying.
